Abstract: Traditional Web search ignores user’s geographic (geo) and temporal preference.Personalized Web search results according to query’s implicit geo-temporal intent and preferences can help to satisfy users’ different information needs greatly.GT-WSearch framework was proposed to capture users’ geo-temporal preferences leveraging both query profile and user profile. The query profile signals the geo-temporal characteristic of the query itself. The user profile is obtained by mining not only search results snippets but also user click-through data.GT-WSearch considers geo-temporal relevance of documents when re-ranking search results. The experimental results show that our personalizing approach effectively improves the quality of Web search results.
