Visualization Method for University Teachers’ Performance Data Based on Mixed Layout Strategy

Abstract: The performance data of college teachers play an important role in the evaluation of teachers,such as assessment and evaluation,salary increasement,job appointment and promotion of professional titles.Aiming at the characteris-tics of complex hierarchical features and multi-dimensional attributes,this paper proposed a VPM (Venn Parallel Co-ordinates Mixing) hybrid visualization method based on circular nested graphs and parallel coordinates to visualize the performance data of college teachers.The method uses a circular nested packed graph based on D3 layout algorithm to represent the hierarchical structure,and then divides the circumference of the leaf nodes into different attribute axes,rea-lizing visualization of multi-dimensional attributes by user interaction such as layout design,attribute mapping,attri-bute point connection,scaling and highlighting.The method is applied to the teacher performance data,realizing the visua-lization of the hierarchical structure of the college,the research institute and the teacher,and clearly displaying detailed information of the data item.The experimental results show that the proposed VPM method can effectively display teachers’ performance data.The data and evaluation results are also in accordance with the actual situation,which can help the administrators to manage and evaluate teachers in a better way.
