Abstract: There is no unified definition of artificial intelligence, but generally speaking,if a computer system can do whatever a person needs intelligence to do,the computer system has artificial intelligence. Therefore, artificial intelligence has been widely used in various fields needing human intelligence, such as law,medicine,finance,e-commerce,and so on,among which law is one of the most important applications currently. Therefore, this paper surveyed the research state-of-art and development trend of the combination of artificial intelligence and law,and aimed to help more resear-chers enter the field.Specifically, the survey mainly covers aspects from legislation (artificial intelligence system assisted legislation and legislative supervision of artificial intelligence systems, especially autonomous driving vehicles),grasping law (retrieving legal information, generating and reviewing legal documents),and enforcement of law (evidence collection, legal reasoning and online dispute resolution).

Key words: Artificial intelligence, Data mining, Information retrieval, Law, Natural language process, Reasoning, Self-driving vehicle
