Realization and Optimization of Multi-hop D2D Communications System Based on Android Platform

Abstract: Device-to-Device (D2D) communication is a new communication technique which is defined as communications between mobile users directly without traversing the base station (BS) or core network by sharing small cell resources.Currently,most D2D communication studies are focused on single-hop D2D.Compared to single-hop D2D,multi-hop D2D has advantages in system capacity,communication coverage,data offloading,and energy efficiency,etc.The paper realized multi-hop D2D communication system based on Android smartphones.Optimized link state routing (OLSR) protocol is responsible for network management and a developed application is provided to users to control D2D communication program.Users can realize multihop D2D communication with the system.In addition,the paper increased the power of wireless signal to optimize important performances of the system,such as communication coverage and network link quality.
