Abstract: According to the requirements of the computer vision landing locating system on a Lunar lander, this paper proposed an algorithm to obtain the landing position of the Lunar lander using image sequence registration. This algorithm is based on SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features) , and uses least squares to iteratively remove the mismatch point pair, finally gets the range of a image taken when just landed in a wide range Lunar image with latitude and longitude information to obtain the exact landing position, moreover, analyzes the error of the landing position. The experiment uses 2 kinds of simulated Lunar image sequence. hhe numerical results show that it achieves high registration accuracy and stability, and is qualified for engineering application.
