Abstract: Localization is one of the key technologies for wireless sensor networks. Concentric Anchor 13cacon proposed recently is a localization scheme with high precision. Each sensor node determines in which annular ring they are located within each anchor according to the broadcast information from the corresponding anchor. Each node uses the approximated center of intersection of the rings as its position estimate. This paper proposed an improvement for Concentric Anchor Beacon scheme. Based on the original algorithm, each sensor node can reduce the width of the annular ring they have determined through the broadcast information from the sensor nodes in the adjacent rings. So they can get a more accuracy position estimate than the original scheme. The improved scheme only needs to increase a little energy consumption than the original scheme. The simulation result shows that the improved scheme is more accuracy than the original scheme in an ideal environment or an interference environment.
