Abstract: The aim of this paper is to reconstruct surface from scattered points while preserving or enhancing sharp features. This goal is achieved by establishing a new energy model according to the difference of the principal curvatures. We derived a nonlinear partial differential ectuation and solved it using the finite-element method for the unknown level set function. Numerical experiments show that the proposed method is effective.
