Research and Application of Similarity Based on Search Engine

Abstract: Search engine is one of the most important Internet applications for modern society and brings on more and more attention in the field of scientific research than in commercial area.Aiming at limitations of method of similarity calculation that can’t reflect the relationship between objects globally nowadays,we investigated a new method for similarity calculation based on search engines.With the idea of set theory and the introduction of market shares of search engines as well as a series of simplified mathematical methods,the similarity was obtained based on the merging results of search engines.Experimental results confirm the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method for similarity calculation.
